On this date in 1958, Emilia Newcomb, age 22, spontaneously combusted while dancing at a party. She was reduced to a small pile of ash after a brief, intense flare, with only her shoes, slightly scorched, remaining.
What a lucky bitch. Danced herself right into eternity. That's the kind of break I can only DREAM of getting. Some of us are doomed to go on, day after day after shitty day, with no end in sight, and never even get asked to dance. And who the hell has the energy, or the knees for that matter, to dance themselves into a pile of ashes, anyway?
2012, please don't let me down.
